We have spent over a month in Italy, mainly taking it easy around the northern lakes and mountains. We have also had lots of really lovely Warm Showers hosts. They have welcomed us into their homes and cooked us amazing meals.

I think Italy is probably going to be the only country on this trip where we feel we have ‘done’ it. Obviously we didn’t touch the south, but as far as the north goes, we have seen quite a lot, and got a real feel for it.

The weather has changed quite a lot from France and Spain. But stayed pretty consistent all through Italy. Hot mornings and early afternoon, then a big thunder storm in the afternoon/early evening.

Without planning we arrived in Turino while Jade’s cousin Karlijn and her son Tim were on holiday there, so we managed to meet up and got treated to an amazing proper Italian meal! We also met up with our friends Meg and Nath on lake Garda for some mountain related activities. It was great to see some familiar faces and have someome else to talk to for a few days.

Up until now we had been aiming for this point, now it feels like the real adventure is starting!
